CDA has been directed by the Cabinet Secretariat of the Senate Standing Committee to resolve the impending water crisis on an urgent basis. Senator Kulsoom Parveen remarked that had CDA taken appropriate actions for taking Shah Allah Ditta reservoir, water shortage crisis could have been averted.
While giving a detailed briefing of CDA projects like the Government Officers Cooperative Society, Kurri Model Village and Park Enclave, Chairman CDA said that the recent agreement between China and Pakistan to supply 200 gallons of water per day would help resolve the crisis.
According to a CDA official, Government Officers Cooperative Society will comprise of 350 kanal. The committee directed the official to make sure the development work is finished on schedule, while putting the society elections on hold till after Eid.
