The announcement of Ashiana Housing Projects in other cities of Punjab, including Faisalabad, has been much appreciated by every sector. The idea behind this scheme is to lessen the gap between the rich and poor. There are thin chances that the trend will sweep to other provinces but it sure will benefit a big chunk of lower class residing in different cities of the Punjab. Initially, more than 2800 houses will be constructed in Ashiana City Faisalabad. Comparing to the number of people in need, it is not a significant count yet the project is one of its kind initiated by any government ever in the history of Pakistan.
The Ashiana Housing Project Faisalabad inaugurated on Sep 4, 2011 and is been monitored regularly by the Chief Minister. The construction process is on with a fine pace, authorities are making measures to ensure that quality material, and services are utilized for the construction of houses and infrastructure in Ashiana. To keep the process transparent, the CM plans to monitor the balloting himself. He visits the project sites regularly and inspects the work in progress. In Sep, during a briefing on Ashiana Housing Project Faisalabad, CM declared that the houses will be handed over to the needy before winter this year.

The CM announced earlier that every Ashiana society will be aided with schools, colleges, hospital, industrial estate, and bus terminals. It was suggested to build multiple story buildings to control expenses as well as accommodate more people, which has been approved for Ashiana City Burki Road Lahore.
