Noor Mahal

The place was built in 1872 on the behest of Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan for his wife to resemble Italian chateaus along neoclassical lines. It is used as a state guesthouse and is partially open to the public.

Sadiq Dane High School

The place is nestled near Satellite Town, Sadiq Dane High School. Also known as Government Boys High School, this educational institute was established in 1911 by the then Nawab of Bahawalpur. Its gorgeous architecture has been completed with a clock tower which is still fully functional. This school accommodates over 2000 students.

Farid Gate

Bahawalpur was historically a walled city comprising seven gates, and Farid Gate is one of the only gates that is still standing. The efforts are in progress to preserve it and the surrounding areas to their former glory.

Derawar Fort

This amazing landmark is situated 130 kilometres south of Bahawalpur City and lies in close vicinity to Shadab Colony. This impressive fort is worth visiting. It has forty bastions which can be seen from miles all around in the Cholistan Desert. Originally a Rajput fort built in the 9th Century, this place has withstood the tests of time quite well with its five-foot thick walls.

Darbar Mahal

This is one of the many beautiful royal palaces in Bahawalpur, sitting near the edges of Darbar Road. Bahawal Khan V commissioned this place for his wife. Completed in 1905, it has not been open to the public since 1971. Having said that, you can still relish looking at its gorgeous exterior architecture.

Lal Sohanra National Park

This place has been declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and stands amongst the largest national parks in South Asia. This unbelievably diverse landscape encompasses desert, wetland, and forest ecosystems. Spreading over the area of 127,480 acres, it is located 25 kilometres east of Bahawalpur.

Central Library

An architectural beauty inspired by Italian designs, this place is the second-largest library in Punjab, Bahawalpur Central Library. It can be easily accessed from Goheer Town. It houses an inspiring collection of over 100,000 books and even encompasses all the editions of major national newspapers dating back to 1947. It also provides facilities for the physically and visually impaired.

Abbassi Mosque

Built in 1849 by Nawab Bahawal Khan, the exquisite cupolas and domes of this mosque were built of the highest quality marble of the time. Nawab Bahawal Khan was famous for his dedication of delivering beautiful architecture in Bahawalpur.

Tomb of Bibi Jawindi

It is located near Uch, a city founded by Alexander the Great and renowned for its shrines and Sufi culture. Built in 1493, this place was the masterpiece of an Iranian prince, Dilshad, for Bibi Jawindi, the great-granddaughter of a famous Sufi saint. Despite the fact that the place is damaged, conservation efforts are in progress to restore its gorgeous interiors and exteriors.

Gulzar Mahal

Commissioned by Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan IV, this palace has the privilege of being the first building in Bahawalpur to have concealed electrical wiring. This worth visiting place is similar to Noor Mahal with architecture that has noticeably European influences.
