ABOUT F-5, ISLAMABAD
Islamabad is the capital of Pakistan and probably the most well-planned city in the country. Divided into five zones and then equally sized sectors that sit in alignment with each other, the capital is sprinkled with nature’s gifts like mountains, streams, and relics of the Buddhist era. No wonder, the city enjoys a rapport for being one of the most beautiful capitals in the world.
That said, beauty is not the only reason behind the city’s fame. Islamabad is a hub of political activities and is home to country’s most important federal government offices like Senate, Parliament, Supreme Court of Pakistan, Prime Minister House, President House, State Bank of Pakistan and offices of other federal ministries along with relevant bodies. Embassies of the countries are located in Islamabad as well. Adding to that, Islamabad is usually the first city that welcomes foreign officials making a visit to Pakistan.
Among these five zones, sector F-5 is located in Zone 1 – probably the busiest zone in the city. F-5 Islamabad is further divided into sub-sectors named F-5/1 and F-5/2 that are separated by the Agha Khan Road in between.
Sector F-5 is located right next to sector F-6 Islamabad and the Red Zone. While the Ataturk Avenue separates F-6 from F-5, it is the Constitution Avenue that demarcates F-5 from the Red Zone.
As the case with the sectors F-6, F-7, F-8, F-9, F-10, and F-11, F-5 is also lined by Main Margalla Road/Khayaban-e-Iqbal Road on one end and Jinnah Avenue on the other. - Murree Road: Runs from Islamabad and leads to Rawalpindi and to Murree, as the name of the road suggests, while intersecting all the towns and villages that come in between. Murree Road is a major thoroughfare for hosting almost all the political activities that take place in Islamabad. This is the reason why the name of the road was changed to Benazir Bhutto Road in 2008; however, the new name didn’t really pick up and the people still use the old one to refer to the road.
- Islamabad Expressway connects Islamabad to Rawalpindi through a faster route and also links Kashmir Highway to National Highway 5 or NH5.
- Grand Trunk Road (GT Road) links Islamabad to Peshawar on one end and to Lahore on the other, all this while touching upon the cities that come in between. From Lahore, the road submerges into the NH5 network that runs throughout the country.
- Motorway 1 connects Peshawar to Islamabad and vice versa. Motorway 2 is a link between Islamabad and Lahore.
Trekking is undoubtedly the favourite recreational activity of the residents of Islamabad and sector F-5 boasts the most common trek of all, Trek 5 on Main Margalla Road.
Since sector F-5 Islamabad is home to high-level government officials and their residences, a check post is located on Main Margalla Road as the sector begins. This is to vet entrants in a bid to ensure robust security.

THINGS TO CONSIDER
There is not one but many aspects to F-5 Islamabad which render the sector great potential with respect to investment. To start with, F-5 Islamabad abounds in the residence of famous politicians, noteworthy bureaucrats and influential government officeholders. Since a person is judged by the company he/she keeps, this is a perfect opportunity for those settling in Islamabad and have been leading a high standard of life to attain if not same then nearly the same status in the society. The move will eventually have a positive impact on the quality of life of those moving in.
F-5 Islamabad is indeed a sector of Zone 1, however, the mild vetting through a checkpoint on Main Margalla Road sets it apart and discourages the inflow of chaotic traffic on the roads lining the sector. Moreover, the securitization is to also ensure the provision of peaceful law and order conditions in the sector, creating a comforting and liberating ambience for the residents.
Keeping the above feature in mind, it is also important to emphasize that although F-5 Islamabad enjoys a far-from-the-madding-crowd kind of a reputation among the sectors, it is in no way secluded from the major attractions and significant thoroughfares in the city. In fact, if anything, F-5 indulges in nearness with both the natural wonders of the city like Trail 5, Saidpur Village, Islamabad Zoo and the popular urban setups like D-chowk, Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA), Marriott Islamabad, Beverly Centre F-6, Kohsar Market F-6 etc.
Adding to the same thread, the sector also remains connected to the biggest highway passing through the city named the Kashmir Highway via Ataturk Avenue and Constitution Avenue. The interstate road further connects the sector to Murree, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Lahore and many other neighbouring towns. The Grand Trunk Road (GT Road), Motorway 1 (M1) and Motorway 2 (M2) also fall into this gem of network of roads, urban and rural centres.
Away from the bustling markets and community centres, still so connected to the major supermarkets, malls, education institutes and hospitals, F-5 Islamabad is a dreamland for people who tend to strike a balance between socializing and spending a quality me-time.
Coming down to what matters the most: the properties up for sale and rent in the sector, the prices undoubtedly suit the awe-inspiring architecture, aesthetically pleasing interior and lush green gardens. The area sizes of the properties do not follow a certain standard and so, the variation brings about the beauty of the sector. Lastly, keeping in view all the features listed above, no one can contest the fact that the properties are aptly-priced.
All these factors and more make F-5 Islamabad a perfect neighbourhood for those who want to move to the main zone of the capital from an ultra-posh residential society lying in the outskirts of Islamabad or in any other city. Whatever the case be, there is no denying that any investment in F-5 Islamabad may result in amplifying benefits, both in the short and the long run.
