We\u2019re living in the digital age. One of the many benefits of digitisation is efficiency, which is why both federal and provincial governments in Pakistan are increasingly working towards digitizing all of their procedures. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is taking the lead in this regard. The provincial government has recently launched an e-payment system called Zama KP for the payment of various taxes. Let\u2019s take a look at the features of this smartphone application and how it works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zama KP is a full-fledged e-payment portal for paying various provincial taxes online. The smartphone application was unveiled at a launch ceremony attended by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan among other high-profile government officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The application has been developed and launched by the Excise & Taxation Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with technical and financial assistance of the Sub-National Governance (SNG) Programme and Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) of the British Government. Zama KP is a diverse smartphone application having various options to facilitate the general public with various important tax payments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The launch of Zama KP is a tremendous achievement of the provincial government which will not only digitize the whole process of tax payment but also make it highly convenient for the public as well to pay their taxes. While addressing the ceremony, the chief minister said that the launch of the application for tax payment will also result in an increased collection of the taxes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Development Phases <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The development of the smartphone application for tax payment was planned in two phases. The first phase was to launch the application with the activated feature for the payment of token tax on vehicles. In the next phase, the development team will work on other features which include payment of property and other vehicle taxes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even though the development of the e-portal has been an effort of the Excise & Taxation Department, it will be available to other departments too for collection of their taxes. As part of the future updates of Zama KP, users will also be able to pay fee challans of their educational boards making it an all-in-one solution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Features Of Zama KP<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Considering the features of the Zama KP application and once they go live, it will prove to be an easy and highly efficient system for the collection of tax payments and other services. At present, only two features are live and the rest are work in progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
