<\/p>\nThis is the first edition of a new series on our blog. We will bring you a walkthrough of some of the best houses in the cities of Pakistan. In this edition of house of the month, we take you through an owner-built bungalow in DHA Phase 1 of the immensely thriving city of Karachi.<\/p>\n
Karachi is known as the city of lights. It is also home to various industries; including the well-established real estate. DHA Karachi particularly features some of the best houses in Pakistan. From traditional to contemporary, there is plenty of variety in designs.<\/p>\n
We have chosen this 1,000-square yard bungalow specifically for its expert architecture. Another evident element is the traditional touches, which blend in perfectly with the overall design of this house.<\/p>\n
As you walk towards the house entrance on the brick-paved path, the bay windows and slanted architecture is simply eye-catching. Adjacent to the pathway is a lush lawn, which also features a quaint fountain in the corner. As we approach the grand entrance, the door\u2019s aesthetic is hard to ignore due to its very old-city design. The deep and dark woodsy hue of the door creates the warm welcome a home needs.<\/p>\n
At the entrance, we are greeted by a small area that opens up further; the two areas divided by a large wooden archway. At this point, you will realise the abundance of woodwork in the house. The wooden strip can be seen running through the walls, which adds an uplifting dimension. The interior combines dark and light-coloured woodwork easily.<\/p>\n

Looking up in the same area, we can see the roof highlighted with wooden beams. These conveniently add to the homely and cosy feeling. Additionally, the large windows; opening both indoors and outdoors, create an airy and open atmosphere.<\/p>\n

The kitchen is designed on an open-air plan. Once again, the exceptional wooden cabinet work around the kitchen adds to its organised aura. Lined below are the traditional cupboards while top part features cupboards with lift-up doors; decorated with frosted glass. Storage convenience has been provided for common appliances such as the fridge, oven, and microwave. A diamond-shaped window at the top lets in plenty of natural light.<\/p>\n

Large circular pillars intersperse the living area that the kitchen opens up to. All the elements come together to create an airy, light, and comfy space; perfect for family living.<\/p>\n

The upstairs portion can be reached through an elegantly constructed staircase; all in wood. The landing also features a large window; letting in natural light towards the stairs.<\/p>\n

The bathroom features a marble vanity-top along with quality fittings. The mirror lines the entire area over the counter; giving the bathroom a spacious appearance.<\/p>\n

Other prominent features of the house include a separate dining, 6 large bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, and spacious halls. It has also been built at an ideal location; offering easy access to necessary amenities such as hospitals, convenience stores, and schools. Recreational facilities like parks and other public spaces are also nearby.<\/p>\n
