Recently, Prime Minister Imran Khan issued a set of policies for foreigners, some of which we shall discuss below:

Visa-on-arrival policy and e-visas

The announcement to make visa-on-arrival policy for 50 countries was a breath of fresh air for the Pakistani tourism industry. Furthermore, e-visas have been introduced for citizens of 175 countries. This is happening for the first time that a policy is drafted to allow citizens of so many countries to have visa on arrival. Earlier, only 24 countries were given this privilege.

Application process

The process of submitting applications is simple. Applications should be submitted within 48 hours before you make the trip. It should also carry an invitation letter from a sponsor within Pakistan or have a confirmed hotel booking. If there are group tourists then there should be an invitation letter from tour operators in Pakistan. When foreign nationals arrive in Pakistan, they will be given an Electronic Travel Authorization via e-mail.

E-visa portal

Pakistan’s e-visa portal launched

The government of Pakistan has launched an e-visa portal for Pakistan.
