Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation, more commonly known as PGSHF, is a housing scheme launched by the government of Punjab to accommodate its retired employees as a reward for their labour, hard work and commitment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, building a house is no easy feat. However, this project has made it much easier for retired employees from (basic pay scale) BS-1 to BS-22 to own a plot or a house in one of the approved stations. The allocation of plots or transfer of built houses takes place on the basis of seniority as per the date of retirement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Approved in 2004, the scheme allows employees to receive a plot completely free of cost at the time of their retirement. The families of government servants who passed away during service are also eligible for the award. It basically works like the Defence housing schemes across the county, where employees and\/or their families are only required to pay for the construction of the house and for the development of infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Established under the Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation Act, 2004, PGSHF was launched to provide plots and houses to government employees on a no-profit-no-loss basis. Headed by the Chief Secretary Punjab, a Board of Directors comprising government officials and civil servants looks after the affairs of the foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the Board of Directors has constituted five major committees to manage different tasks. The list includes the Planning and Development Committee, Finance and Accounts Committee, Land Bank Committee, House Allocation Committee and Works Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Becoming a Member of PGSHF<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One needs to become a member of the Punjab Government Servant Housing Foundation to receive the award. To obtain PGSHF membership, <\/strong>you\u2019ll need to submit a duly filled form to the foundation during a certain period. The form can be downloaded from the official website. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Moreover, PGSHF member employees and their families are not required to pay construction and development costs all at once. Instead, a set amount will be deducted from their salaries\/pension at the source. The monthly deduction varies with basic pay scales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

PGSHF has chosen 11 cities to establish societies for its retired employees. The members can specify their preferred government housing society at the time of filling the membership form. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
