However, this project has made it much easier for retired employees from (basic pay scale) BS-1 to BS-22 to own a plot or a house in one of the approved stations. The allocation of plots or transfer of built houses takes place on the basis of seniority as per the date of retirement.

Approved in 2004, the scheme allows employees to receive a plot completely free of cost at the time of their retirement. The families of government servants who passed away during service are also eligible for the award. It basically works like the Defence housing schemes across the county, where employees and/or their families are only required to pay for the construction of the house and for the development of infrastructure.

Here’s what you need to know about Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation.

Overview of PGSHF Housing Scheme

The project office in PGSHF Rawalpindi

Established under the Punjab Government Servants Housing Foundation Act, 2004, PGSHF was launched to provide plots and houses to government employees on a no-profit-no-loss basis.
