The training programme, which aims to enhance the professional skills of the young generation and assist them in earning an honourable living by means on internet-based freelancing, is a joint initiative of Punjab Information Technology Board and Youth Affairs, Sports, Archaeology &amp; Tourism Department. Also known as \u2018Chief Minister&#8217;s e-Rozgaar Program,\u2019 it was introduced in mid-2017 and has trained more than 16,000 candidates so far.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The main purpose of the e-Rozgaar training programme is to equip the youth with self-employment opportunities to ensure they earn a steady and sustainable income. With an emphasis on improving the digital skills of the youth, the goal of this training program is to enable the candidate to secure a long-term source of income by being a part of the global freelancing industry, also known as the gig economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Basically, the e-Rozgaar training programme offers free-of-cost training in three domains: technical, content marketing and advertising and creative design. A freelancer can work for multiple employers and take on several assignments at the same time, depending on their expertise and ability to deliver on time. It\u2019s a short-term work, commonly referred to as a gig.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the past couple of years, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/blog\/freelancing-in-pakistan.html\" target=\"_blank\">freelancing in Pakistan<\/a> has progressed at an incredible pace. According to a report published by the State Bank of Pakistan for the fiscal year 2018-19, Pakistan has become the third most popular country in the global freelancing market, drawing the attention of international companies looking to outsource tech jobs. Currently, the freelance industry in Pakistan is earning a revenue of over half a billion dollars.
