The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has set up a committee to conduct a scrutiny of housing societies in Islamabad. The CDA will review any discrepancy between the original layout plan, the on-ground reality, and the implementation of the layout plan. In this blog, we will discuss how the top civic authority will examine the provision of amenities in private housing schemes of the capital and what action will be taken against schemes found violating the authority\u2019s directives. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CDA is on a mission to take to task the housing societies that have violated the building by-laws and zoning regulations of the federal capital or have not followed the masterplan of Islamabad. The top civic authority has set up a task force to specifically scrutinise housing societies developed within the boundaries of the federal capital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The committee responsible for examining housing societies in Islamabad is headed by the Director Master Plan CDA. Other members in the review committee are Director Planning and Evaluation, Deputy Director Master Plan, and a representative of the Cooperative Housing Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The survey of housing societies has already begun, and the four-member committee is investigating the use of amenity plots, which were allocated to different housing societies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The purpose of setting up a task force to probe housing societies and private residential schemes is to examine whether the promised set of amenities were delivered to the residents or not. The scrutinising committee will visit various private housing societies, examine the layout plans of different projects, and compare it with the on-ground implementation of the layout plans. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tasks of the Committee <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The committee formed by the highest civic authority of the federal capital will take action against those housing societies found guilty of violating building by-laws and not living up to their promise of delivering mandatory facilities. The committee will particularly look at the residential schemes that have converted the dedicated areas meant for public amenities like parks, schools, and hospitals into residential and commercial plots and have put them up for sale to earn additional revenue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The management of those housing societies that promised the provision of essential amenities such as hospitals, parks, playgrounds, and graveyards, but failed to provide them to their residents will be held accountable. The core task of the review committee is: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
