About NADRA Pakistan<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

NADRA Pakistan is an autonomous and independent corporate body that functions directly under the Interior Secretary of Pakistan. It is the primary agency in the country that is responsible for the regulation and management of the government as civilian registration databases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organisation was established in 1998 as the National Database Organization under the Ministry of Interior. In March 2010, the National Database Organization merged with Directorate General of Registration to form the National Database and Registration Authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apart from maintaining and updating various sensitive databases containing personal information of the citizens of Pakistan, NADRA also issues computerised national identity cards, child registration certificates and other identity documents. It is also responsible to secure the national identities of the citizens of Pakistan to mitigate any identity theft.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
