Bahria town greed unlimited?

Other than the problems identified, the following is equally applicable to sharif govt. “development doesn’t come from concrete! It comes from human development.”

This is allover the media nowadays. Looks like an attempt for getting own share.

U should follow malik riaz twitter, he has answered all those queries of dawn news against him

Investment in bahria projects is one thing, but bahria’s unethical practices and corruption is not a secret so it should not come as a surprise. One could argue that in a country where corruption is ripened, at least bahria has generally delivered, with several exceptions like ph 9 and BE2, instead of running away with people’s money. However, land grabbers and tax cheats they certainly are.

So khan sb you think what ever is written in this article is a lie and a way of blackmailing BTK…

If a story like this was printed by The news or Jang we could have considered it as vendetta given the past track record of these newspapers. Dawn on other hand has a very good reputation for being an unbiased and objective paper. This report will certainly have some follow up repercussions and on the least make many investors cautious of what may lie ahead.

Facts are facts!!!

its a fact that Bahria town is a brand which delivers quality product but at the cost of what ever is written in the article. Its not that a big deal for any powerful person in Pakistan to bend laws for paving his ways and over here we are talking about a property tycoon who has got links with political parties so it should not come as a surprise...

Leave a side whatever is written in article again another fact is that the same brand has manipulated its investors out of greed in BE and BTK

so the title "Bahria town greed unlimited" fits them.

It's true Bahria town and Dha greed unlimited but no other option for investment.

There is little doubt that Bahria’s practices are not really ethical or even legal in many instances, however, as far as regular investors are concern, at least BT mostly delivers, except for cases such as BT ph 9 or BE2, among few others. The positive thing is that hopefully they are not going to run away with your money, at least that’s what the past decade and a half history suggests. Other than that, no one is even close to being clean, and that includes both BT and DHA. However, they have been smart enough to realize that by securing the integrity of allotment/ownership, they can be successful locally as well as they can tap into expat Pakistanis, the largest source of capital inflows in the country.

93 sq km town is massive…

Although some of the contents in DAWN article on BTK is true there are many issues with the article (and in fact on the overall campaign being run in DAWN on a daily basis against BTK). First of all, singling out Bahria Town Karachi is just unfair. There are societies all over Pakistan where the same thing is happening. Even DHA Lahore and ISB have done the same and now in DHA City Karachi same thing is going. That's talking about top societies, while there are hundreds of illegal societies all over Pak plundering people's wealth. They are hardly brought on Media trial.

Secondly, there is huge exaggeration in the article that a lot of people and families are getting displaced and oppression, injustice is done etc. Have they actually visited that site?

I saw another article in yesterday's DAWN that Karachi's electricity and water is being given to BTK and DHA City and this will deprive the Karachiites. There are so many issues in that article alone. 1st of all, BTK and DHA City are part of Karachi, they are Karachi based schemes so what kind of argument is that anyways? Secondly, there is massive shortage of housing units in Karachi (major reason for huge property prices) and new societies are critical for the city residents. And for all new societies (not just BTK, DHA), electricity and water is needed and it is the right of every citizen to claim that.

It is the duty of govt to provide electricity and water to everyone and to all societies. Not just BTK and DHA City, Karachi at the moment needs scores of societies just like in Lahore and Karachi, where the excess population can be accommodated. Govt has to ensure that these societies get electricity and water. Bad governance, exemplified by the water tanker mafia which gets 50% of Karachi water, should be blamed rather than new societies for the shortage. That article was a desperate attempt to create panic and anger among the residents in Karachi against these 2 societies, when that anger should be towards someone else.

IMO, DAWN is deliberating targeting BTK so that an action is initiated against the society that can be credited to their investigative journalism. Or some sour grudges perhaps (maybe they bought 100s of 125 yds files which still stand unballoted and trading at a loss).
