Pakistani rupee value is doing a nose dive and currency value has depreciated 30% compared to british pounds since 2017.

I bought 2 plots back in 2015 in bahria town. Even though the price of plots have gone up by 10% each year, the value of currency however depreciated and the investment is completely worthless.

Anyone seeing anything positive coming out of pakistan's economy in the next few years?

Why we are left behind Bengladesh?

Renowned economists Akbar Zaidi and Qaiser Bengali nicely sum it up. While Asad Umer quietly endorses it.

A wake up call to all day-dreaming Pakistanis.

(Sorry offtopic) @ Ilyas wrorjana why do you wish to get the local guys into unwanted trouble with the local bosses? :)
Its full text is available online on archive.org for those who might be interested in the indo-colonial history though. The untold story of Indias partition. Based on british state archives publicly available here in the india office library London. Sshhh..

Let them live in peace bro. Curiousity killed the cat ;-)
History is bitter and brutal. Look forward to better cohesion leading to better times.

            ....
Even after receiving all the cooperation from India, US and China; Bangladesh is still no-where near it's potential.

Pakistan no doubt have bigger geo-political challenges tied to our economy but potential is also much more radical than Bangladesh, which can align us for leapfrogging anytime in to a whole new era of economic stability altogether.

Only danger I see for Pakistan is if it turns itself in to a paranoid security state like North Korea and Iran where government and it's institutions start to control daily lives of every citizen with no fundamental rights. It will kill innovation and ingenuity, what little is left of it!

              @JDM,

Paranoid or not, but the later part is true. It starts with tight media control, curbing independent voices and journalists, spying social media, putting away public reps, planting puppets.

              Sounds familiar?

Yet there are simple minded morons among us, who think all these were necessary and the Puppet is the "final hope".

              Final hope, my foot !

                Back to the topic:

Khaleej time reporting that Rupee will go further down to 180 against USD.

Does this sounds realistic to you at all? don't you think media is also culprit always reporting false news about Pakistan?

The article doesn't say, it 'will' it says 'likely'

                  -- The Fact:

"In the last five working days, the rupee has lost Rs7.70 against the dollar"

"...the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) - the central bank - reported that its foreign exchange reserves dropped by $55 million to $7.80 billion due to payments on account of external debt servicing."

                  --The Likely Happening:

"Analysts and experts said that the rupee is expected to stabilise at Rs160-165 against the dollar (43.6-45.2 versus the dirham) by the end of this month. In a short-to-medium-term scenario, the currency is likely to touch Rs180 (49 versus the dirham) by the end of this year."
                  ----------
What else to expect when the central bank officially telling that reserved drop (new $$ to be borrowed) for external debt servicing.

Borrowed $$ by a PKR driven economy and expect PKR to stabilise or $ not rise...? The reality is that Intl. Media will write as things stand (ofcourse as that suits a particular agenda, in some cases) and not give a damn to 'Masbat Tasveer-kashi'

160 - 165 has been a prediction for first settlement, since Jan 2019 but it was predicted to be at that level by Dec 2019. However, afterwards IMF deal with free float forex that earlier prediction may shatter in no time.

                      Isloooo 1 bro,
You told me once that " you were on the GROUND "..... If you were, you would have never raised the question of BENGALI economy..........

In Govt Primary School in KPK we were taught URDU like this in 1987.

                      ب سے بندوق۔

We were taught Pashto Subject in this fashion

                      ټ نه جوړيګي ټوپک

When i got admission in UET Peshawar in 1999 and i saw the Slogan of afghanistan Jihad on my hostel room door........ are you kidding me islooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This was done intentionally to weaponise our generation in KPK to fight on behalf of "THEM".....

Where bengalies and indians were taught in schools:

                      ق سے قلم۔

Slick sahib you were right to say:

                      History is too bitter......

                      Ohhhhhhh Dear Isloo!!!!!!!

From 1979 till 2014 we have been fighting "the WARS"..... Pakistan is the strongest country to exist in spite of such hardest times........... bengalies and indian had never the stimna to go through so many wars and would have vanished from the Planet earth by now........
