I have a question around inheritance for a friend.
His father has passed away recently, who has quite a bit of land.
How will this be inherited? He has 1 other brother, two sisters and his mother.
Please can you provide some clarity on this ? There seems to be a lot of stuff on inheritance, but it is sometimes confusing, particularly when there are multiple bothers and sisters.
My understanding is that his mother will inherit 1/8. However as there are 2 brothers and 2 sisters, we are struggling to understand how this would be split from a sharia perspective.

you are right. 1/8 for wife. Divide remaining with following portion
1 part for each son and 1/2 for each daughter
if there are 100 parts.
Wife 1/8 = 12.50
Son 1 = 29.17
Son 2 = 29.17
Daughter 1 = 14.58
Daughter 2 = 14.58
Total = 100.00
