Geothermal energy: very clean and sustainable option

Among sustainable and renewable energy options is geothermal energy.
Geothermal power plants use steam produced from reservoirs of hot water found a couple of miles or more below the earth's surface. There are three types of geothermal power plants: dry steam, flash steam, and binary cycle.
Can someone please beg mian sahab to spend time and resources to explore and exploit pakistan's geothermal potential instead of spending these resources on election tactics like laptops and metro bus...
Conventional thermal power plants that we keep investing in produce very expensive electricity which burn environmentally harmful fossil fuels such as furnace oil and diesel. This requires hundreds of oil tankers running on roads every week. These tankers also use fuel plus they cause traffic problems and damage to roads.
Why don't they do some out-of-the-box thinking?

I work in the power industry and we be build everything from nuclear power plants to wind farms and every thing in between. Pakistan is the land of flowing water and small dams with power generation along the lines of those built in Turkey plus lng will cure Pakistan of their ills. However you have no idea what impression donors and bankers have of the present regime. They won’t find anything hence the Chinese jump in with their envelope under the table tactics. Very sad state of affairs when bangladesh is in better state corruption wise then our land of pure.

Indeed you are very right. A lot of things need to be done beside geothermal energy but this is how things are going and will continue to go. Lack of awareness is a big issue. I have seen most pakistanis who visit abroad have a changed their ideologies than were before. It is just like locals are ready to accept things by saying this is how it goes in Pakistan but unlike overseas as they see good life, fulfillment of basic needs and rights they cannot stand this term being “this is how it goes here”. I think it may take another 100 years or more when ppl will have such awareness to fight for their rights collectively.

Arshad, there has to be a balance in development. Too much of it pushes us away from nature. It is crazy rat race out there, and not all have to be part of it. We love our simple lives, peace and serenity. Don't want to be part of crazy competition and artificial life where everybody is busy spending and taking things away from nature and not putting back anything.

What a topic to discuss on zameen forum.

Nonetheless, geothermal is good, because it sounds clean and sustainable. Too little is being done to make our surroundings clean and clear.

Yes isloo this seems a great option but who will bell the cat and beg Mian Saab?
