Islamabad:<\/em> The Capital Development Authority (CDA) launched the ‘My Islamabad’ super app, offering over 150 services, as reported on October 18.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As per details, these services, related to the CDA, Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), and the Police, aim to enhance ease of doing business and improve public services for the citizens of Islamabad. During a high-level meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Thursday, the app’s launch was reviewed as part of broader efforts to digitise and modernise the city\u2019s infrastructure. The app is a cornerstone of CDA\u2019s vision to make Islamabad a fully digitized city by providing easy access to a wide array of services through a single platform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the super app, other key digital initiatives were discussed. Chairman Randhawa emphasized the need to replicate the newly launched digital parking system, currently operational in areas such as G-8 and Centaurus Mall, across other major commercial zones and Marakazs to tackle parking challenges and enhance traffic management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting also focused on progress regarding the CDA\u2019s smart city initiatives. Members were briefed on the development of Islamabad\u2019s first-ever digital streamers, set to be handed over to the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) for management, as well as ongoing efforts to digitize land and property records, with over 35,000 files already digitized. The completion of staff training to streamline property-related services was also noted as a key milestone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairman Randhawa directed swift action on the development of an IT Park, which will utilize an existing structure and transform it into a cutting-edge facility, complete with shared working spaces, R&D centers, and a data center, expected to create over 4,000 to 5,000 jobs. The chairman emphasised the importance of fast-tracking this project by appointing a transactional advisor without delay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In terms of cybersecurity, Randhawa called for third-party measures to protect user data as the city integrates more digital services. Additionally, he underscored the importance of collaboration with NADRA and other entities to further enhance digital offerings. The meeting also reviewed the progress on the establishment of a Tier 4 data center and the ongoing collaboration with Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) for the development of a Silicon Valley project, which aims to foster innovation and entrepreneurship within the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, the implementation of an e-office system was discussed to streamline internal workflows and boost efficiency within the CDA.
