This announcement was made by the Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, at the \u201cExhibition of Electric Bike Models\u201d organized by the Engineering Development Board (EDB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During his address, the minister highlighted the government\u2019s goal to reduce fuel dependency, lower carbon emissions, and promote the use of cleaner, more sustainable transportation across the country. Minister Hussain revealed that 31 companies have already shown interest in entering the electric vehicle market in Pakistan, with two companies granted permission to manufacture EVs locally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government\u2019s plans also include the introduction of a second electric vehicle policy by November 30 to further promote the use of electric vehicles and incentivize both consumers and manufacturers. Additionally, the Punjab government is working on the development of two- and three-wheeler electric vehicles to complement the nationwide push for electric mobility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The minister also mentioned that the government had allocated Rs. 4 billion for the promotion of electric motorcycles.
