The UK-based publication highlighted the region\u2019s dramatic mountain scenery and its improved security situation as key factors contributing to its inclusion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the Financial Times, Northern Pakistan is home to some of the world\u2019s most breathtaking mountain landscapes. The publication noted that the region\u2019s enhanced security, better accessibility, and improved accommodation options have made it increasingly attractive to tourists from around the world. \u201cNorthern Pakistan boasts some of the world\u2019s most dramatic mountain scenery, and an improved security situation, easier access and better accommodation options mean that more visitors are discovering it,\u201d the Financial Times article stated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In August 2024, Pakistan introduced online visas for citizens of more than 120 countries, further facilitating access to this remote and stunning part of the world. The Financial Times also mentioned a guided 14-day group tour available to travelers, offering a deep immersion into the culture, history, and natural beauty of the region, with six days dedicated to trekking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The recognition by Financial Times comes shortly after US-based CNN included Gilgit Baltistan in its list of the top 25 travel destinations for 2025, underscoring the region\u2019s growing appeal. CNN Travel referred to the area as \u201chome to five of the 14 eight-thousanders,\u201d referring to the world\u2019s highest peaks, including K2, the second-highest mountain in the world and considered one of the most challenging and dangerous climbs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
