Lahore: The Punjab government has approved the construction of Lahore\u2019s first wastewater treatment plant at Babu Sabu, with an estimated cost of Rs81.7 billion. The project is set to be completed by June 2025 and aims to reduce water pollution by treating wastewater before it enters the city\u2019s drainage system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to official documents, the treatment plant will be built on 836 acres near the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway. It will purify wastewater from the Central Sewerage District and South Civil Sewerage District, improving water quality and environmental conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
