Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has announced a comprehensive plan to improve the city’s infrastructure, focusing on road upgrades, beautification, and eco-friendly initiatives. In a meeting chaired by CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa, key steps were outlined to accelerate ongoing development projects in Islamabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting, attended by senior CDA officials, discussed a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing the city’s roads, green spaces, and tourism. Among the most notable plans is the acceleration of road construction, repair, and expansion, along with permanent maintenance of infrastructure such as green belts and interchanges. The CDA aims to beautify the city with eco-friendly plants and vibrant flowers, particularly along central avenues and highways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are committed to improving the aesthetic appeal of Islamabad by enhancing its green spaces and roads. The installation of planters at major intersections and the beautification of interchanges will add to the city’s charm and make it more welcoming for residents and visitors alike,\u201d said Chairman Randhawa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CDA has also set its sights on promoting tourism through sustainable development. Special emphasis was placed on upgrading the city\u2019s central highways and installing solar-powered features such as solar cateyes. Furthermore, the CDA plans to establish pedestrian tracks and a food street in Blue Area, encouraging local businesses and tourists alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In line with its eco-friendly goals, the CDA is working on digitizing traffic management systems to improve the flow of traffic, making travel more efficient for both citizens and tourists. \u201cWe will also ensure that the revenue generated from digital billboards along highways is used for road repair and maintenance, further contributing to the city’s development,\u201d Randhawa added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to road and infrastructure improvements, the CDA plans to upgrade its Model Nursery to attract students from universities and colleges for research purposes. A mobile app will be developed, allowing people to purchase plants and seeds online at subsidized rates, further supporting the city’s green initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CDA Chairman also announced surprise visits to various parts of the city to oversee the implementation of these projects and ensure that all tasks, including patchwork, lane markings, and curb stone installations, are completed on time.
