Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched an ambitious beautification and infrastructure improvement campaign aimed at enhancing Islamabad\u2019s green landscape and urban appeal. The plan includes the renovation of expressways, parks, roundabouts, and the restoration of water fountains across the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative was announced following a high-level meeting at CDA Headquarters, chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. Attended by members of the CDA\u2019s Environment, Planning, and Engineering departments, the session focused on transforming the capital into a more vibrant, eco-friendly city that supports tourism and promotes a healthier living environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the briefing, five major roads have been selected for the first phase of the beautification drive: Islamabad Expressway, Margalla Road, Club Road, Park Road, and Faisal Avenue. The improvements will include lane markings, footpath repairs, enhanced median strips, and the beautification of green belts and right-of-way zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the roadworks, the CDA is prioritizing the upgrade of major roundabouts, restoration of 23 dormant water fountains, enhancement of mega parks, and the development of urban forest projects to combat pollution and support biodiversity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the plan, model highways will be adorned with seasonal flowers, aesthetically designed planters, wooden signboards, and strategically placed natural boulders to enhance visual appeal. Modern lighting systems are also being installed to improve both safety and ambiance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairman Randhawa has directed that all parks within city sectors be upgraded with new walking tracks, modern swings, enhanced horticulture, and improved lighting. These measures are part of a broader effort to make Islamabad cleaner, greener, and more livable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CDA officials noted that public response to the early beautification efforts has been overwhelmingly positive, particularly the enhancements already visible along several main roads. The campaign aligns with ongoing tree plantation drives and green initiatives designed to establish Islamabad as a model eco-city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
