Lahore: The Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP), in collaboration with the Ravi Urban Development Authority (RUDA), is set to organise the Ravi Jeep Rally<\/em> on May 11 <\/strong>and 12, 2025. The 30-kilometre off-road event is expected to draw motorsport enthusiasts and promote adventure tourism in Lahore\u2019s Ravi belt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a coordination meeting held Monday, Commissioner Lahore Division Zaid bin Maqsood reviewed administrative and municipal arrangements for the rally. Officials from the Lahore and Sheikhupura administrations, along with other relevant departments, briefed the commissioner on traffic management, safety protocols, and event logistics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The commissioner directed full support for the organisers and stressed the need for an efficient traffic plan and comprehensive coordination among departments to ensure the rally’s success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a related urban beautification effort, the Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Lahore has completed major landscaping work along Walton Road and 47 Road. As part of the project, 6,000 indigenous trees were planted along Walton Road and 1,000 on 47 Road. The plantation drive included species like Ficus, Palm, Alstonia, Buddha Tree, Sukh Chain, Sobia, Pelican, Cotton Tree, and Ashoka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, three \u201coxygen pockets\u201d\u2014green spaces aimed at improving air quality\u2014have been developed near the Peel Factory and Packages Mall. PHA Lahore Director General M Tahir Wattoo noted that these initiatives are designed to enhance the city\u2019s charm and contribute to a healthier environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
