Islamabad:<\/strong> The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has approved the development of a seven-star hotel and an international hospital in Sector G-13, Islamabad, through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, reversing its earlier decision that mandated disposal of these plots via open auction only.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The change was approved during the 40th Executive Board meeting of FGEHA held on May 9, chaired by Federal Minister for Housing and Works Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada. The board officially revoked a resolution passed in December 2023, which had restricted the disposal of high-value plots to open auction. Under the revised plan, two models\u2014PPP and lease-and-operate\u2014will now be used to attract long-term private investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials said the revised strategy aligns with the Prime Minister\u2019s directive and has been developed in collaboration with the Public-Private Partnership Authority (P3A). The decision followed multiple consultative sessions aimed at encouraging sustainable development of strategic sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the hotel and hospital plots in G-13, the FGEHA has also identified 11 other sites across the country for PPP-based development. These include an IT tower and an international office hub in G-13, a shopping mall in Islamabad\u2019s Skyline Project, an international school in Sector G-14\/2, and several residential-commercial ventures in Rawalpindi, Karachi, and Murree.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, the board deferred action on the Murree property due to an unresolved legal dispute over land ownership stemming from pre-partition claims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
