The development was disclosed in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Faakir-1 well, operated by OGDCL with a 95% working interest and Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) holding the remaining 5%, was drilled to a depth of 4,185 meters in the Sembar Formation. Drilling commenced on December 31, 2024, and was completed using OGDCL\u2019s in-house expertise, in collaboration with GHPL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company conducted two Drill Stem Tests (DSTs) in the Lower Goru Formation, focusing on massive sand intervals. It also contributes to strengthening OGDCL\u2019s domestic hydrocarbon portfolio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>OGDCL stated that the find would support national energy needs by adding to Pakistan\u2019s indigenous gas reserves and help reduce reliance on imported fuels.
