The infrastructure projects, aimed at easing Rawalpindi\u2019s chronic traffic congestion, are nearing completion and will be formally opened by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Nawaz Sharif Flyover, located at Khawaja Corporation Chowk on Adiala Road, has been constructed at a cost of PKR 2.3 billion. The combined cost of these Mall Road underpasses and walkway stands at PKR 4.388 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All projects are being funded by the Punjab government and executed by the provincial Communications and Works (C&amp;W) Department, in coordination with the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Beyond the June 30 inaugurations, additional infrastructure upgrades are in the pipeline. Construction is expected to begin shortly on:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A new flyover and underpasses at Kachehri Chowk (estimated cost: PKR 8.5 billion)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Underpasses at Qasim Market, Race Course Chowk, and Charing Cross, three of the busiest intersections along Mall and Peshawar Roads.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>To expedite construction and minimize disruption, these works are planned to begin during the ongoing summer vacations in educational institutions.
