Lahore: The Punjab government has approved a development package worth PKR 1.755 billion for key infrastructure and public service projects in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The approval was granted during a meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP), chaired by Planning & Development Board Chairman Iftikhar Ali Sahoo. The package includes a series of road, water supply, sanitation, and recreational projects aimed at improving urban infrastructure and quality of life in the three major cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Lahore, the plan includes the construction of a dual carriageway from Niaz Baig to Lake City, expected to improve connectivity and ease traffic congestion in southern parts of the city. The new road infrastructure is aimed at facilitating smoother commutes and supporting the growing population in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rawalpindi is set to benefit from the upgrade of Allama Iqbal Park in Shamsabad. The project will focus on enhancing green spaces, providing modern recreational facilities, and improving the park\u2019s overall infrastructure for families and visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile, Faisalabad will see the expansion and improvement of water supply and sewerage systems. The project is expected to address long-standing issues of water accessibility and sanitation in the city\u2019s densely populated areas, ensuring more reliable services for residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairman Sahoo emphasized that the approved schemes are in line with the government\u2019s vision for sustainable urban development. He also stated that these projects will contribute to economic activity by creating jobs and stimulating local industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
