Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced that the provincial government aims to disburse 75,000 interest-free housing loans under the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar<\/em> scheme by the end of this month, with 50,000 citizens already benefiting within just six months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at a ceremony at the Expo Centre in Lahore, the chief minister said the initiative is designed to help low-income families build affordable homes across the province. She noted that more than PKR 74 billion in interest-free loans have been distributed so far, with the first phase achieving a 99% recovery rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to official figures, over 37,000 families have already received both installments of their loans, and more than 52,000 homes are currently under construction. Of these, 45,000 houses are being built, while 9,000 have been completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scheme offers loans for homes ranging from five to ten marlas, with affordable monthly repayments of PKR 15,000 to ease the burden on beneficiaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was attended by thousands of families who have benefited from the programme, many sharing emotional stories. A rickshaw driver, a woman aspiring to build her dream home, and a Rawalpindi resident all expressed gratitude to Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz for making home ownership possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maryam Nawaz said the government\u2019s housing initiative is not just about building houses but about giving people \u201cthe means to build a better future for themselves and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
