Mansehara The district administration on Tuesday initiated construction of an alternative ramp to reconnect Kandia Valley with the rest of Upper Kohistan, after flash floods recently washed away the only road linking the remote area to the district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to a press release, Deputy Commissioner Upper Kohistan directed the Communication and Works (C&W) Department to ensure the earliest possible reopening of the route by building a new section where the road had been destroyed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials said the C&W team worked throughout the day to ease travel difficulties for local residents, many of whom rely on four-wheel-drive vehicles for transport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Authorities noted that the same route had been blocked earlier in the monsoon season, forcing residents to use a local stream as a makeshift path. The stream has since swelled due to glacier melt from the valley and surrounding mountains, making access even more challenging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
