{"id":103183,"date":"2025-09-02T11:03:00","date_gmt":"2025-09-02T06:03:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/?p=103183"},"modified":"2025-09-01T18:10:58","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T13:10:58","slug":"isb-airport-operations-to-be-handed-over-to-uae","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/isb-airport-operations-to-be-handed-over-to-uae.html","title":{"rendered":"Islamabad airport operations to be handed over to UAE"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Islamabad: Pakistan\u2019s cabinet has approved an agreement to transfer the operations of Islamabad International Airport to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) under a government-to-government (G2G) model, in a move aimed at attracting foreign investment and revitalising the country\u2019s struggling aviation sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced the decision following a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Inter-Governmental Commercial Transactions. \u201cToday we decided to finalise arrangements with the UAE government through a G2G framework agreement for the transfer of operations of Islamabad International Airport,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A Negotiation Committee, led by the prime minister\u2019s adviser on privatisation and comprising representatives from the ministries of defence, finance, law and justice, and privatisation, will work out the details of the handover.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement is part of Pakistan\u2019s broader effort to privatise or outsource management of state-owned enterprises, in line with commitments made to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) under a USD 7 billion bailout approved in September 2024.
