Lahore: The Punjab government has approved the construction of a PKR 120 billion elevated expressway in Lahore, a project aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity across the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 11-kilometre signal-free corridor will start from Main Boulevard Gulberg and extend to the Motorway M-2, providing commuters with an alternative route while reducing the load on major city arteries. Officials stated that the project will help save fuel, cut travel time, and lower carbon emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Thursday, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Director General Tahir Farooq inspected the proposed route, covering key points such as Main Boulevard Gulberg, Jail Road, Shama Stop, Samanabad, Gulshan Ravi, and Band Road. He described the expressway as a \u201cgame changer\u201d for the provincial capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, LDA\u2019s Chief Engineer Asrar Saeed and representatives from NESPAK briefed the DG on the project\u2019s design and scope. The expressway will directly connect Gulberg to the motorway toll plaza, with millions of vehicles expected to benefit once completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
