He added that full development of the port city could have enhanced cargo access to China and Central Asia, creating new export opportunities for Pakistan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Security remains a key challenge, he noted, stressing the need for investment in the local population to make them stakeholders in protecting the city. He also questioned delays in making Gwadar\u2019s new airport operational, suggesting that domestic flights should begin if international operations remain pending to reduce the city\u2019s isolation and attract investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ABAD chairperson further emphasised that local communities must be central to Gwadar\u2019s development. \u201cInvestment creates jobs and strengthens the economy.
