Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Saturday announced the launch of a province-wide flood survey campaign and pledged full compensation for all affected families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at a ceremony at the Alhamra Cultural Complex, she inaugurated a digital survey portal and administered the oath to 2,200 survey teams. The campaign will deploy 10,000 personnel across 27 districts, including officials from the Revenue, Agriculture, Livestock, district administration, and Pakistan Army.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chief minister said the survey would assess damages to houses, crops, and livestock, stressing that teams must remain impartial and ensure every loss is recorded fairly. She described their mission as \u201can act of worship,\u201d aimed at providing justice to affected families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Announcing the compensation package, Maryam Nawaz said families would receive PKR 1 million for fully destroyed houses, PKR 500,000 for partially damaged houses, PKR 500,000 for the loss of large livestock, PKR 50,000 for small livestock, and PKR 20,000 per acre for farmers owning up to 12 acres. She assured that temporary shelter and food would be arranged for displaced families during the winter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The chief minister recalled monitoring rescue operations during the floods, visiting affected areas, and personally supervising relief efforts. She praised frontline workers, including late AC Pattoki Furqan Ahmed and PDMA officer Abdul Rehman, for their dedication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting Punjab\u2019s relief efforts, she said the province carried out the largest evacuation and rescue operation in the country\u2019s history, relocating 2.6 million people and saving 2 million livestock through 37,000 boat trips. Thermal drones, AI, and 5G cameras were used to locate stranded victims, while the UN confirmed Punjab provided 76% of all food aid to flood-hit populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maryam Nawaz also commended the role of cabinet members, civil administration, police, Rescue 1122, and armed forces, who she said worked long hours to ensure relief reached victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She vowed that the government would rebuild infrastructure, restore damaged roads, continue development projects, and introduce green buses in urban centers. \u201cPunjab is moving forward, creating new traditions of success. Soon we will say that every flood victim has been compensated and rehabilitated,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
