Murree: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Wednesday unveiled a series of development initiatives for Murree, including the launch of a train service aimed at reducing traffic congestion and providing visitors with alternative transport options.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the inauguration of the Nawaz Sharif Cardiology Centre in Samli, the chief minister said the facility for heart patients had been completed in a short time and had already become operational, with five angiographies carried out on its opening day. Cardiac surgeries are expected to begin in the coming days, she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maryam Nawaz announced that the Green Line bus service would also be introduced in Murree, with free rides for students, senior citizens, and women. An order for 15 buses had already been placed, while three buses would initially be deployed to serve Samli Hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She further said Murree\u2019s schools were being upgraded, a major water supply scheme was being launched, and a sanitation programme under the \u201cSuthra Punjab\u201d initiative was in place to improve cleanliness. A dedicated tourism force had also been created to enhance safety and facilities for visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The chief minister noted that the Murree Cardiac Centre would also cater to residents of Galiyat, while plans were underway to build a modern hospital in Bhurban. She added that police, health, and education departments in Murree were now functioning independently to better serve the local population.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Maryam Nawaz said that while previous governments had made unfulfilled promises, her administration had delivered projects before making formal announcements.
