Islamabad: The Government of Pakistan has approved the construction of a new international airport in Mirpur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), in a move aimed at improving regional connectivity and providing modern air travel facilities for millions of residents and overseas Pakistanis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to official sources, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has begun the technical feasibility process for the Mirpur International Airport project. The process involves identifying a suitable site, conducting environmental and topographical assessments, and evaluating logistical requirements. Authorities expect the feasibility study to be completed by December 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the technical evaluations and design approvals are finalized, a groundbreaking ceremony will be held to formally initiate construction, which is expected to begin within the current fiscal year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
