Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi has approved the Peshawar Revitalisation Plan, directing authorities to conduct thorough scrutiny of all proposed projects and proceed with those deemed feasible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During a meeting at the Chief Minister House in Peshawar, Afridi emphasised that feasibility studies, PC-Is, and all technical and administrative requirements for the projects must be completed within stipulated timelines to avoid delays in implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan includes dozens of development projects under the Peshawar Development Authority, Public Health Engineering Department, Local Council Board, Irrigation Department, Communication and Works Department, and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Highways Authority. Key initiatives include the upgradation of 35 major arterial roads, construction of link roads such as from Hayatabad Industrial Estate to the Northern Bypass, and the missing section of the Ring Road from Nasir Bagh to Regi Model Town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The plan also covers infrastructure projects like underground electricity cables, establishment of new water supply schemes, rehabilitation of existing schemes, improvement of the sanitation system, procurement of electric road cleaners, and the construction of a sewerage treatment plant at Faqir Kale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Urban development and recreational projects are also part of the initiative, including two new theme parks on Khweshgi and Takhta Baig roads, a high-tech children\u2019s park, a cloverleaf interchange at Pir Zakori intersection, and the construction of the \u201cFrame of Peshawar\u201d at Chamkani.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Afridi stated that the ultimate goal of the revitalisation plan is to transform Peshawar into a modern, well-planned, and public-friendly city, with visible improvements expected within the next one to two years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
