Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has unveiled plans to enhance urban infrastructure across Islamabad, including the construction of bicycle tracks, pedestrian-friendly pathways, and comprehensive upgrades to residential sectors and commercial centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decisions were taken during a high-level meeting chaired by CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa at the CDA Headquarters on Tuesday, with senior officials from administration, engineering, planning, and environment departments in attendance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key initiatives under the plan include the repair and renovation of parking areas, improvement of footpaths, upgrading of commercial and Class-III shopping centres, and the development of bicycle tracks along existing pathways. Pedestrian tracks will also be constructed in major commercial areas to ensure safe and convenient movement for residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a renewed focus on urban management, Randhawa directed the immediate removal of illegal constructions and encroachments from residential and commercial areas. The authority will also implement improvements in city infrastructure, including better signage, lane markings, digital parking systems, and regular landscaping to enhance the city\u2019s aesthetic appeal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Critical infrastructure repairs, such as manholes, kerb stones, and sewerage and drainage systems, will be prioritized to address long-standing issues in several sectors. Enhanced sanitation and beautification of Islamabad\u2019s entry points have also been highlighted as key objectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
