Faisalabad: The Faisalabad divisional administration has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with key industrial stakeholders to relocate hazardous industrial units from densely populated urban areas to designated industrial zones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials said the move is aimed at reducing air and water pollution and improving living conditions in the city. The initiative follows long-standing urban planning recommendations that called for shifting polluting industries out of residential areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the agreement, 111 industrial units identified as major contributors to environmental pollution will be relocated in the first phase. Authorities will propose land for new industrial zones and coordinate infrastructure development, including utilities and waste management systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To support the transition, the administration plans to offer facilitation measures such as land allocation, tax incentives, and access to soft loans. A joint committee will oversee implementation and address operational challenges during the relocation process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
