Quetta: Gwadar is moving closer to a major urban and economic transformation as authorities have allocated land for the development of its flagship Central Business District (CBD), a project envisioned as the future commercial core of the port city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The progress was reviewed in a high-level meeting chaired by Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) Director General Moin-ur-Rehman Khan, with senior officials including Chief Engineer Haji Syed Muhammad and Director Town Planning Shahid Ali in attendance. The session focused on the project\u2019s scope, strategic importance, and expected launch timeline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials confirmed that approximately 2,585 acres have been allocated by the provincial government for the CBD, clearing a key hurdle for the project\u2019s formal rollout. Once launched, the development is expected to accelerate economic, commercial, tourism, and real estate activity in Gwadar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CBD forms a central component of the Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan and is being developed in the West Bay area. It is designed to function as the city\u2019s future downtown, featuring a mix of corporate offices, residential apartments, hotels, shopping centres, and conference facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plans also include a range of cultural and recreational attractions such as a museum, theatre, library, expo centre, marina park, and seaside resorts. Urban mobility is another key focus, with provisions for modern traffic management systems, pedestrian walkways, cycling tracks, and advanced public transport infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the meeting, Moin-ur-Rehman Khan highlighted Gwadar\u2019s growing global significance, citing its strategic location and operational deep-sea port. He noted that the CBD project is expected to enhance investor confidence and position the city as a competitive destination for international investment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
