Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a series of subsidies for the transport sector to offset the impact of rising fuel prices and prevent an increase in fares.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the new measures, the government will provide monthly subsidies across multiple transport categories. Trucks will receive PKR 70,000, passenger buses PKR 100,000, mini-buses and wagons PKR 40,000, cargo vehicles PKR 80,000, and delivery vans PKR 35,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The subsidies will be disbursed through digital wallets to ensure transparency and efficient distribution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prime minister said transporters would not be allowed to raise fares despite the increase in fuel prices, warning of penalties for violations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
