Islamabad: The federal government has directed authorities to formulate a zero-tax hotel policy aimed at attracting investment in Pakistan\u2019s hospitality sector, alongside approving major recreational and urban development initiatives in Islamabad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The decisions were taken during a high-level meeting chaired by Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters in Islamabad, where ongoing and future development projects in the federal capital were reviewed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials said the proposed zero-tax hotel policy is intended to encourage investment from internationally reputed firms and promote the development of five-star hotels through joint ventures. The policy is expected to support tourism growth and improve hospitality infrastructure in the capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Progress on a five-star hotel project being developed in collaboration with the Employees\u2019 Old-Age Benefits Institution (EOBI) was also reviewed during the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a parallel development, the meeting approved the establishment of a large-scale public park spanning 1,000 acres at the foothills of the Margalla Hills. The project is aimed at expanding recreational spaces in Islamabad and enhancing the city\u2019s appeal as a model capital with international-standard public facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Interior Minister emphasized that Islamabad should be developed into a model city offering modern infrastructure, improved civic amenities, and enhanced recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting also decided to conduct a comprehensive survey of all land and properties in Islamabad through the Survey of Pakistan to improve record accuracy and transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials were further instructed to appoint a dedicated marketing team for future land auctions to ensure maximum investor participation. In addition, a control room for Capital Emergency Services will be established within the Safe City project to improve emergency response coordination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Sohail Ashraf, along with senior CDA officials and members, attended the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
