Chiniot: Punjab has stepped up efforts to move forward with a proposed steel mill project in Chiniot, aimed at utilising the district\u2019s significant iron ore reserves and strengthening the province\u2019s industrial base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Provincial Secretary for Mines and Minerals Pervaiz Iqbal visited Chiniot on Monday to review progress on land acquisition for the project. He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan and other senior officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the visit, the secretary held a detailed meeting with district authorities and inspected the proposed sites for the steel mill. Officials briefed him on the estimated scale of iron ore deposits in the area, along with proposed mining techniques, processing facilities, and overall land requirements for the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative is being seen as a key step toward boosting industrial activity in Punjab while making use of local mineral resources. Authorities believe the project could help reduce Pakistan\u2019s reliance on imported steel and contribute to long-term economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
