Rawalpindi: Work on the Rawalpindi Ring Road project has reached around 85% completion, while the PC-1 for the Thallian Interchange, estimated at PKR 4.8 billion, has been approved by the relevant authority.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to project details, the total cost of the Rawalpindi Ring Road, including the Thallian Interchange, stands at PKR 51.4 billion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials said the 38.6-kilometre route includes key interchanges at Banth, Chak Beli Khan Road, Adiala, and Chakri, where construction work has also reached an advanced stage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ring Road is expected to be opened for traffic by mid-June; however, it will initially operate without the Thallian Interchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Thallian Interchange and a two-lane motorway link road beyond it will be developed in a later phase by the National Highway Authority (NHA) and opened separately once completed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources in the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), which is executing the project, said remaining work on the main corridor is progressing steadily and that about 15% of work is still pending on the route and interchanges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They added that funds for land acquisition required for the Thallian Interchange are available within the overall project cost, and construction activity is continuing under monitoring to ensure timely completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
