He supported the creation of a dedicated authority to improve governance and returns from such properties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The cabinet secretary briefed the committee that the federal government holds extensive commercial, urban and rural real estate across the country, including land and built assets managed by various ministries and attached departments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">However, he said these properties were often not utilised in a commercially viable manner and remained vulnerable to encroachments and illegal occupation.
