He noted that the housing programme would also benefit the construction sector and allied industries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Officials said applications increased significantly after eligibility requirements were simplified in March. In response to growing demand, Mr Sharif directed authorities to further streamline the application process and instructed the Ministry of Housing and Works to work with the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on simplifying application forms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also directed commercial banks to expedite the processing of complete applications and called for a wider public awareness campaign to improve outreach to eligible households.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Provincial governments were instructed to establish facilitation desks at the district level to help applicants complete land documentation, which officials identified as a key hurdle in the loan process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The meeting was informed that the SBP has directed banks to process applications within 15 days.
