Medium to high flood levels are expected in the River Chenab at Marala and the River Jhelum upstream of Mangla, while high flows are also forecast in the River Kabul and its tributaries, particularly near Nowshera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Read: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zameen.com\/news\/punjab-reviews-flood-heatwave-readiness.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Punjab strengthens flood defences, heatwave response measures<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rapid increases in water levels are also expected in the Swat, Panjkora and Chitral rivers, as well as tributaries of the Jhelum basin and transboundary nullahs originating from the Pir Panjal range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The authority cautioned that urban flooding may occur in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Lahore and Sheikhupura, as well as Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda and Mardan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The NDMA has advised provincial and district authorities to remain vigilant, implement contingency plans and closely monitor the evolving situation.
