A few cases are still pending and awaiting resolution.<\/p>\n<p>The Lahore Development Authority (LDA), in order to resolve those cases, took an initiative a few years back and sought courts\u2019 intervention for the resolution of disputes, and now the authority has come forward with the following idea\u00a0to address the issues:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Good news:<\/strong> The authority is set to computerise land records in Johar Town to facilitate property buyers and sellers. Computerisation will provide a certain level of ease to the buyers and sellers in matters related to property transfers, building plan approvals, no-objection certificates (NOCs), building period extensions and completion certificates.<\/p>\n<p>According to a news source, the computerised data will be uploaded on LDA\u2019s website to make it easy for the residents and those planning to buy a property in Johar Town to get relevant data from the website and confirm the status of the property in question within a matter of minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, the sellers will only be required to visit LDA office once or twice to transfer the ownership to the buyer without any need of getting NOC from the authority. According to an LDA official, the properties with suspicious status will also be added to the digital system, but the buyers or sellers of such properties will be required to follow set procedure for property transfer.<\/p>\n<p>The project is likely to be completed within a couple of months and if this happens on time, residents will somehow heave a sigh of relief.
