The Defence Housing Authority (DHA) has earned monumental recognition for offering high-end housing societies in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. The developer also recently launched DHA Gujranwala and DHA Multan and received great response from investors.<\/p>\n

Now DHA is planning to announce a housing scheme in Peshawar, the official launch of which is scheduled for next month. DHA has not yet started marketing DHA Peshawar in the conventional sense, however the plan to launch an upscale locality in Peshawar has been finalised. I personally believe that this project will change the landscape of the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n

Reportedly, the development of DHA Peshawar will also spell the end of the turf war for property between Regi Lalma residents and the Orakzai Tribe, as DHA preferred to acquire disputed barren land instead of acquiring agricultural land for this project. Sadly, the land feud between Regi Lalma and Orakzai Tribe has claimed more than 20 lives so far.<\/p>\n

The idea of a Lahore-, Islamabad- or Karachi-like DHA residential scheme in Peshawar was proposed in 2005 by the government of the time, however the plan could not be executed for various reasons. Now, the DHA and other authorities concerned seem to be serious about providing a lavish community to the people of Peshawar.<\/p>\n

According to a news source, Phase I of DHA Peshawar will span 6,000 kanals initially and it will be extended to 10,000 kanals later on. In order to cater to the middle class, the DHA will also feature 5- and 10-marla plots.<\/p>\n

Though the proposed housing society will be located on the outskirts of Peshawar, it will be connected to central Peshawar through the expressway connected to Islamabad-Peshawar Motorway. The exact proposed site for the project is adjacent to the under-development Regi Lalma Housing Society on Nasir Bagh Road, while Durrani Media Colony, Professor\u2019s Colony and Askari Scheme are in its neighbourhood.<\/p>\n

The news source reported further that a portion of DHA Peshawar will be close to the banks of Kabul River.
