Saddar, Rawalpindi\u2019s Bank Road has been turned into a Food Street, which is now up and running. The road was declared a walkway last week with no permission for vehicles to enter after 7pm.<\/p>\n<p>Various eateries at the Food Street have given traditional touches (inspired by Kashmiri and local architecture) to their edifices, which add to the festive aura of the street and are a source of great attraction for the visitors.<\/p>\n<p>The visitors may park their rides on Haider Road and walk along the Food Street, where a clock tower has also been built. That should be perfect for the selfie enthusiasts, so let the snapping and clicking begin!<\/p>\n<p>Around a 100-year-old <em>Peepal <\/em>tree outside the National Bank of Pakistan building, you can sit on the benches and enjoy the beautiful ambience with your friends and family. And if you are a history buff, the pictures displayed at various places in the Food Street will walk you through the history of the Bank Road area.<\/p>\n<p>In order to adorn the festive atmosphere of the street further, the authorities concerned have installed a replica of a classic Ford 1908 car there as well.<\/p>\n<p>Reportedly, the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has spent Rs 20 million to turn Bank Road into this stupendous Food Street and the project was completed within 6 months. The holy month of Ramadan has just begun, and the Food Street will remain open to serve customers from <em>iftar<\/em> to <em>sehri<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>If you are a real foodie, have no particular diet plans and like to eat till you choke, the Food Street in Saddar is all set to serve you traditional food, the scrumptiousness of which is stuff of legend.
