ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS) has rejected the Capital Development Authority (CDA)\u2019s proposal of developing a housing society on the National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC)\u2019s land in Chak Shahzad.<\/p>\n

The scientists associated with the academy have appealed to Prime Minister Mr Nawaz Sharif to stop the authorities concerned from converting 1,395 acres of land into a housing and commercial area.<\/p>\n

Reportedly, the CDA has also submitted a proposal to the prime minister to seek approval for the development of a housing society on the land in question.
\nPakistan Agricultural Research Council Founder Dr Amir Mohammad told reporters that agriculture was the only industry that had the potential to cater to the issues of the country’s economy.<\/p>\n
