KARACHI: The Sindh Board of Revenue (BoR) has proposed to increase property record-related charges, which may include the fees regarding the land demarcation, amalgamation, mutation and issuance of certificates.<\/p>\n
Current land record-related fees ranging between Rs 2 and Rs 100 were fixed in 1982 and the rates have not been altered since. With these fees, the government earned a revenue of Rs 1.15 million in the outgoing fiscal year.
\nNow the BoR has proposed to set the rates between Rs 100 and Rs 5,000, depending on the services availed. For example, the fee for the inspection of records has been increased from Rs 2 to Rs 100. Similarly, the fee for the issuance of a sale certificate has been spiked to Rs 300.<\/p>\n
